Nikola is a neuroscientist and a longevity researcher at the Buck institute for research on aging with a focus on the interaction between peripheral inflammation and acceleration of brain aging. He obtained a PhD in Neuroscience for his studies in the network structure of the connectivity between brain cortical areas and he also holds a BS in Cell Biology and Physiology from the University Claude Bernard in Lyon France. He has pursued a multi-faceted multi-disciplinary career at prestigious universities: Yale, Princeton and Stanford.
Nikola is actively involved in building the longevity community. He is assistant director of Longevity Global, a nonprofit organization fostering interactions between researchers, entrepreneurs and investors. He contributes to the Longevity Biotech Fellowship, an organization identifying talented individuals from outside the field and preparing them to tackle the most advanced problems in longevity. He is a board member of United we Age, a local non-profit assisting aging individuals in their day-to-day life and enriching their social interactions.
